About me...
Sabrina Khan
Integrative Therapeutic Counsellor MBACP
After working for a Local authority and in Customer services for almost 15 years I wanted to work in a more focused, supportive and empowering role with clients. I began my journey and studies as a counsellor and found my passion (need to finish this Page)
How do I work?
I believe that counselling is a collaborative process and I work with you to establish a safe and non-judgemental space where you can explore and work through your concerns while I and support and facilitate the sessions.
I see counselling as a two part process. First we need to look at how you are managing in the here and now while reflecting back and processing past experiences. I integrate various counselling techniques such as exposure therapy, Gestalt, Emotionally Focused Therapy, mindfulness in a user-centred and holistic approach.
I would provide a safe, confidential and supportive space for you to reflect, overcome, strengthen and be empowered.
My Qualifications.
I am a qualified Integrative Counsellor. I am registered with the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) adhering to their Ethical Framework, and working towards full Accreditation. I have worked as a high school counsellor and as a domestic and sexual violence Counsellor helping clients work through incidents of trauma and symptoms of PTSD and complex PTSD. I have also trained in Emotionally Focused Therapy as a Relationship Counsellor and also offer couples counselling.
I am trained as a facilitator for The Freedom Programme (Domestic abuse awareness), Family Links and Talking Teens (Parenting programmes). I am currently completing a diploma in EMDR Therapy.
